The Portuguese Government vehemently condemns the heinous attack that took place yesterday near St. Marcus Cathedral in Cairo.
The explosion happened during a celebration in the church of St. Peter and St. Paul, a cruel and horrible deed.
The Egyptian People, recently mourning for the attack against the police forces past Friday in the Talibiya district, also in Cairo, deserve heart-felt solidarity on behalf of the Portuguese Government and the Portuguese Nation.
The Portuguese Government expresses its deepest grief to the Egyptian authorities, to the Egyptian people and especially to the victims’ families wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
The Portuguese Government abhors all forms of terrorism and requests the International Community to continue and strengthen the combat against this scourge.”
