Africa Energy Forum 2019

The world’s biggest African energy deal making Forum Welcomes Portuguese Investors this June.

In June 2019 (11-14 June) Lisbon will welcome 3,000 African energy stakeholders including over 18 Energy Ministers, 20 CEOs of national electricity utilities, over 600 proven and operational power developers, 450 of the leading private sector and multilateral investment institutions (with in excess of US$40bln assets across the continent), and the world's most experienced legal minds during the 21st Africa Energy Forum.

This extraordinary meeting comes to Portugal as the Government nears the final stage of its Morocco:Portugal mega infrastructure high voltage transmission project, linking both countries to create a market for two way electricity trade.

Projects such as Mozambique’s gas infrastructure development programme, the Dii Desert Solar Project, Ethiopia’s New Energy Programme and their Ethiopia/Saudi transmission line, the Uganda/Tanzania Oil Pipeline and South Africa’s Gas Industrialisation and Gas IPP Programme are finally reaching investor ready phases with significant backstops in place from World Bank and AfDB.

These projects will liberate energy markets and aid industrialisation across the world’s fastest growing populations.

This year's Africa Energy Forum in Lisbon will showcase the latest power projects to reach financial closure. We'll explore how they succeeded and chose partners and financial models – a brilliant opportunity to explore and learn with the best.
